Default mysterious transmisssion leak

1998 4L60 E 4 wd...has anyone experienced transmisssion fluid loss with no apparent cause.
I lose app. 1 quart in 1,000 miles, but there is no evidence of the leak except on the dipstick.
A leak of this magnitude should show drops when parked, or oil in the engine coolant.

Check the fluid level in your transfer case to see if it's overfull. Could be going there.

If the T-case is full you will need to replace the input seal on the T-case. I had the same problem with my 95 and with a 90 suburban.

Good luck

Same suggestion from me as both of the previous replies. Check the transfer case level by pulling the fill plug (upper one). If fluid pours out, the front seal is bad. Hopefully you do not have fluid in your vacuum system...
