I have used a large rubber strap wrench to hold the pulley.
most harware stores or a plumbing supply house should have one.

If you go to sears they have sockets that take out stripped bolts, nuts etc.... I have a set and they work wonders i believe they are called bolt outs. They are awesome 20.00 for the set i picked up for my 3/4 drive

you could try a pipe wrench that might work. also leave the belt on as it will hold the pulley from turning. If you still cant get it try to get a hold of an air hammer. Thats what most guys at the dealership do. Take a sharp bit and hit it on an angle on one of the points of the clutch nut. It will break it loose

Thanks everyone for all the input this has been very helpful....since I have access to a pipe wrench I will begin there...I was hoping that the belt will hold the pulley and not spin on me but it spun and then I put as much tension on the belt as I possibly could and it still spun...haha but I think the idea of the rubber strap wrench will do the trick (i hope)...will have to run to Ace hardware this week...since the truck is my winter ride I am trying to get it all done before it gets colder...so I do appreciate the help and info you all have provided...will keep everyone posted
