Default Need HELP Weird problem with BLINKER.

This is new to me, My left blinker indicator light stays on. So I check to see what bulb is out. It's the left front blinker. The blinker works but no steady light on all the time. I switched it with several bulbs, No luck. I then switched it to the right headlight blinker. Bulb works as should! But when placed in the left socket it just has a tiny glow of the wire….. Then all of a sudden I turn around and its on full. Ok I thought maybe just dirt or something. Then a minute later back to a dud again with a faint glow. Has anyone ever had an experience like this? I don't know where to look?

Ok, I just checked all the wiring behind the headlight that the blinker is connected to. Everything is fine. Found the ground, there are multiple wires attached to it. All is fine. Now WHEN I SHUT THE HOOD CLOSED, the damn light comes on nice and bright, as it should. BUT AS SOON AS I PUT THE LEFT BLINKER ON it goes out and blinks real fast. Open the hood and slam/shut it down again, same result - light comes on, but then glows dim as soon as blinker is applied. Anyone ever had anything like this. Seems like something might be loose, but I can't find anything loose?

Probably a bad socket. The ground circuit in the socket is not making a good, solid connection. Remove the bulb and check resistance on the ground wire in the socket, to a good clean body ground, or battery negative. Must be less than 5 ohms. Try wiggling the wire in the socket when testing. New sockets need to be soldered on, no crimp connectors. Use 60/40 lead/tin rosin core solder only.

Yeah bad grounds will do all kinds of strange things. Sounds like the problem is 100% in the left turn circuit and not the running lamp circuit. If not the socket as mentioned, check ALL those grounds for continuity, and make sure you've got 12v getting there as well. Does sound like a loose connection somewhere, since things change when you shut the hood ...

Thank you ! Gentlemen. I am working today, But might be off tomorrow. I'll check into that in the morning. I already tried the wiggling of the wires, had no effect. I am suspecting a ground also, But it's weird that it will only go on with the slamming of the hood. And not by me moving all the wires around to see if there is a short.

Check the battery connections: loose / corroded.
Could also be the light switch in the dash. Try wiggling the wires on the back of the light switch. I know...not real easy to get to.

There's a possibility that the closing of the hood completes a ground circuit. I've seen stranger things happen in my day, so while a stretch, it's still entirely possible. You'll need to be patient, and go through the wiring methodically. You'll find it.

Well last night when I got home from work, I aligned my headlights. I had them both shooting up at the stars. LOL. Seems like all the county vehicles have their headlights aiming way to high. Anyways, While doing this I was watching the left blinker light to see what it was doing. I noticed that the light would come on when the hood was slammed/shut down like before, BUT ALSO would come on when I pulled the hood release to pop the hood open. So I am deff. thinking there's a short or ground connection somewhere. Thank you fellows for helping me. It is appreciated very much.
