am looking at buying a 1999 blazer with 125,000 miles. what is reasonable to expect with regard to how many more miles the engine has left in it. I do not know much other information other than the owner of the vehicle takes good care of his vehicles.

 

It depends on how well the maintenance was kept up on it. Mine a '94 has 199K on it. Its not uncommon to see engines with a lot more on them.

 

Yea it could last you 300k or it could just take a crap in the next few thousand miles. It really all depends on prior and future maintenance.

 

If you maintain it better or as good as the previous owner then the engine could last another 100K. Plus how hard you push things when you drive it...
