Exclamation New to forum..NEED HELP

Alright guys this is my first post...I got a 98' blazer ZR2 about a month ago..I love it but the fuel gauge reads empty at all times and the light is on..I'm not sure if its. A bad ground or what but I need troubleshooting ideas before I do somethin major..any help is greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum, most things I've heard is bad ground.

Here's the best I can find. Alldata really helps in some case but when it comes to systems schematics, GM sux


What you can do.. On top the crossmemebr over the rear diff, is a major ground point. unbolt them and clean terminals. You may want to relocate the grounding bolt to face rear so you can see it.

find the harness leading to the sender assy at rear of tank. Wiggle to see if gauge starts working.

Good chance pump had been replaced. When that happens defective OEM pump connector is as well. Supplier includes butt splices which SUCK unless you have pro level tools to install them.

Thanx guys..that really helps ill have a look at it today if the rain holds off.....gotta love Michigan weather
