New fuel pump = screwy fuel gauge?
#1
So here's my problem. The old fuel pump on my '96 Blazer was slowly dying, so I finally broke down and replaced it with a new Delco unit. I'm fairly certain that the old one was the original Delco from factory. My problem is that now when I fill the tank the gauge reads WAY past full, and empty is around 1/3 full on the gauge. With the old pump the gauge read just past the full line with a full tank, and empty was in between the two red lines, so not perfect there either.
A couple more details: The new Delco pump came with an updated flat 4 pin harness to replace the square 4 pin harness on the old pump. I soldered all the connections, and am positive that nothing is shorting. The gauge moves normally with fuel consumption, but it just appears to be calibrated wrong. Does anyone know if there's a way to recalibrate the fuel gauge?
<EDIT>
So I spent 30 minutes searching on the forum before posting and couldn't find anything. 30 seconds after posting and I find this:
98+ Fuel Gauge Diagnosis
I don't know how I missed that before, but I'll bet money that it's the problem, and could have been contributing to the old fuel pump dying, or at least it's symptoms. Now I just have to locate the ground for the fuel pump and fuel level sending unit, and it looks like this thread has my answers.

I have owned 2 Blazers & the gauges are anything but correct. The volt meter on both mine read off. A couple of times I thought I was not charging yet a volt meter connected to the battery show all was good. My 97 the fuel gauge would sometime go goofy. The only gauge that reads right on either of mine is the temp gauge. So I just go by mileage I figure 250-300 miles & I'm looking for a gas station.
