Default New fuel tank help!

Hello, new to the forum here. I have searched and cant seem to find what I'm looking for. My 04 xtreme gas tank developed a leak where the filler neck connects to the tank spout. It is a Plastic tank appears to be factory and the rubber seal on the tank spout seems to have dry rotted. I buy a new metal tank that is listed everywhere specific to the 01-05 models. This tank has 2 metal spouts, one for the filler neck and another breather spout? My original tank only has the one large spout where the filler neck is coupled to by a rubber hose. Anyone know if this new tank will work? Should i just cap the smaller spout on new tank or buy the older model filler neck?
Tried to explain the best I could without pictures.
Thanks

I have noticed this too. I am having an issue with the pump shutting off while filling. I replaced the pump and sending unit. noticed that the vent tube was pinched when they changed it from last time. so now im trying to find info on so called line which comes from the top of my plastic tank. all the aftermarket ones are steel with a nipple next to the fill hole. i see that no one has responded to your post but a ton have viewed it. guess gotta do more home work
