Default fuel tank

hey guys, I have plastic fuel tank that has developed a leak by the vent valve. I cant find a plastic tank anywhere.

Can I replace this with the steel tank? New steel tank pump etc.

Will this work or is their a computer glitch or something that would prevent the blazer from running with the steel tank instead of the plastic tank

Thanks in advance

If it's the exact same tank, just a different material, I don't see how it would make a bit of a difference.
