new intake

Default new intake

i was wondering if it was worth it to get a new air intake i dont have much money so it would be a knock off brand. i was wondering how whard it would be to replace it and if it was worth it i have a 2 door 2000 blazer v6

Whatever you choose, you should make sure that the intake isolates the incoming air from the engine bay heat. Also, you may want to save up and atleast get a K&N cone filter. The cheaper knock-off filters are horrible.

Some will argue that it will give you the gains the manufacturer claims, but that's not entirely true. You wanna make some power: Get a real intake, not one of those fancy looking chrome elbow pipes with a filter. K&N Gen II FIPK is a good one, or a Volant intake. Next, be sure that you do one if not all of these things: Get a mass airflow sensor, or get a computer tuner. Last: be sure and get a bigger exhaust. It takes Air+Spark+Exhaust to make power.
