Hey folks first post here. These forums came up alot in my Google searches so I decided to join in. I recently bought a 2000 Bravada Platinum Edition. Black over pewter. Picked it up for 800 bucks because it had a pretty serious misfire condition. After replacing the distributor and spider injector it runs like a top. Which is when I discovered the AWD doesn't work lol. No service 4wd light. At least the G80 diff still works. I drained the t case to find it was filled with a tan fluid that was pretty much black. Filled with blue Auto Trak II. I'd rather not shotgun parts at it until it's fixed because I'm laid off for the winter. So few questions, is the TCCM in the passenger floor board supposed to click when turning the key to "On"? If that is normal I'd assume the encoder motor is out. All fuses related to 4wd are fine. The abs light is on because of a broken front wheel speed sensor. But I've read conflicting reports on the effect on the AWD system. Looks like I'll be able to solder it back together without a problem. How do I go about purging that code from the ABS system? Just pull the fuse or disco the battery?

I've Google searched the issue to death. It just spins the back tires and won't kick into AWD. If it was stuck in 4wd by God I'd know how to fix it haha. It will spin all 4 up on stands without issue so it seems mechanically it will work. Dealer says they could throw it on the scanner for 90 bucks but if there's no lights on they may not find anything.

Aside from that, really liking it so far. I've pulled the MAF screen, cut the airbox and modded the TB blade, lowered it with 3in blocks and took the adjustment bolts out of the bars. Still rides great, looks better. I picked up 2 camaro SS wheels and need to find a couple more and I'll swap those on.

That's it for now. If anyone can lend some advise I would appreciate it.

Get the ABS wire fixed first, then go from there.

The AWD actuates when it sees a wheel speed difference from front to rear. If it's getting jumbled signals, the system most likely disables AWD completely to keep it from engaging when it doesn't need to be engaged...

For what's it's worth, don't even bother trying to solder the wires back together. I tried with my 04, didn't work... I ended up replacing the sensor with wire and all. As a tip though, you can use the sensor off a 98-06 full size GM truck or SUV; plug and sensor is identical, just a longer wire that is if you can't find one on a Blazer or S10 (it'll have to come off a 4x4 Blazer, S10, Jimmy, Sonoma, or a Bravada)

Must be what the previous owner did. The front driver side abs wire is about 6 inches longer than it needs to be. It was just hanging in there and the brake rotors was rubbing it, cut it all the way through. However, I went through and bled all the brakes today cause the pedal is pretty soft, no change on that. But I noticed it would trip the abs light when pressing the pedal, then go off after I let off the brake. Going to try and find a buddy with a scan tool and see what it says.

I've been running a Silverado sensor on my right front for over 2 years now without issues. As long as you handle the extra wire length right and keep it from rubbing against anything, it works great lol
