Here's an even better one for ya... I plug in the old NSS to put the truck into N because it makes me plug it in to pull it out of park. Then I replace the switch..w the new switch in I put my truck back into park and now it wont come out.. So only w the bad switch installed can I even get my truck out of park!!

i know you said you tried the things listed in those links but it sounds like you need to set the position on the nss itself

well that sucks. i am outta ideas. it clearly has to be the nss.
did you have a helper in the truck?

i know it seems like i am not reading what you have done...but i am double checking.

there has to be a way to bypass it...but with electronics ya never know if a small short will toast something down the line.

from another forum

"...Sure did i took it to the shop and they found that i had a bad ground in the starting circuit. On the back of the engine block is a ground that goes to many things not what sure. I have a small coolant leak and over time it corroded the ground giving me intermitent starting issues. So for you it could be that ground. If not try a neutral safety switch on the side of the tranny. Cheap and easy to install. Or starter relays in the fuse box under the hood. What are your symptoms?? Do the lights dim when u turn the key? Maybe ignition switch? I changed everything before i took it to the shop even the starter so the ground was last for me..."

Where would this ground be located.. I've checked everything and cant see anything that I've missed hooking it all up.. There should only be a connection on the pass side for the valve body harness and the two connections on the drivers side for the NSS.. Ground sounds like it could be right but where?!

http://www.ehow.com/how_7921192_diag...-problems.html

This mentions a grounding point on the engine.. It's fifteen degrees in my shop right now it'll be a little bit before I go out there.. It also says if theres a click its the starter. It does click at the starter solenoid so it makes me want to go check the starter connections again I guess.. This is driving me crazy.. I did however take the time last night to go ahead and wire up a flip/touchscreen 7" tv/dvd player and a 1000 watt amp w a ten inch type R alpine sub... Now my country music is gonna jam out.. If I can ever get the truck running...

if the starter is clicking give it a love tap with the hammer... solenoid could be hanging
is the trans flush with the block all the way around? maybe starter is binding.
