intake install went good.

Started the jimmy up and it ran pretty good compared to what it did.

After it idled for 5-10 mins i got heat. The fan however didn't seem to blow a ton of air on full blast. Also my temp gauge was not working. It was pegged in the wrong direction.

Then all of a sudden my heat stopped and my temp gauges was working,.. It was sitting around 200 degrees.

I decided to check the level and it was fine. even built pressure.

I decided to take a drive. Before I even made it a half mile it was around 250 degrees. Thats where I stopped. I could not here coolant boiling however.

Any suggestions? I haven't done any research yet.

Compression check at the sparkplugs and pressure check at the radiator cap. Should have been done when the LIM was off. Check the temp with a IR gun not the instrument gage/sender.

i found a gm service bulletin with my exact issue.

Says the radiator and or heater core is plugged and possibly even air in the system.

Since these are free things I can try I will try these today.

Flushed the heater core and parked it on a hill to get the air out

No more over heating....still runs a little rough but im tracking that down. Has a full tank of nasty fuel so we will see.

Took it down the road and it sounds like there is a wheel bearing going out/ is out.

Sounds like a flat spotted tire but you cant feel it. It does pull to the right real bad.

I think it needs a tune up but i dont want to do that until i get some miles on it and make sure something else hasnt caused the leak. So far no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant. Hope it stays that way. However I might have only driven it 5 miles. WHeel bearing sounds horrible if that is what it is.

When I took the distributor cap off one of the screws was stripped. So its a little wobbly but it dosent seem to make a diffrence when I mess with it when its running.

I ran the scanner on it. Just says random misfire and low input bank one.

Still on track for my $1,000 4wd DD. Sitting at $700.
