Default No blinkers or 4 way flashers 96 4 door 4x4

Recently I replaced a module that controlled the courtesy lights which had gotten wet and shorted out (leak in in fourth windshield). Now the blinkers have completely stopped working. The 4 ways would eventually work if you had them on for 1/2 hour or when it was 45 degrees or warmer. Now they don't come on unless you have them on and step on the brake pedal which had them on solid as long as the brake is depressed. I went to Autozone to purchase a replacement blinker plug in cylindrical type thing but don't know where it goes. The guy at Autozone didn't know either. The Chevy dealer says it might be the stalk itself and said it might be $600 for parts / labor. I went to Barnes & Noble for a Chiltons on my truck but they didn't have one, only small wiring Chiltons for full sized 1996s.

Anyone know where the blinker / flasher module gets plugged in on a 96?

The brake lights, turn signals, and 4-ways all use the same bulbs. So hitting your brakes just illuminates the bulbs, but does not tell you anything about the problem at hand.

There should be two separate flashers. One for the turn signals and one for the 4-ways.

I cannot remember if the flashers themselves are located behind the glove box or under the dash near the center...
