Default No blinkers

Situation:
I was driving home from work and I heard a vibration noise to my right. Looked and saw nothing. Returned eyes to the road then noticed some smoke rising up from the hazard switch. Hell yeah, I freaked out. But it was just a little. When I got home and flipped to turn right, NOTHING happened. It has been that way now for two days - neither signals work. When leaving the signal arm in the neutral position and turn on the hazard, all but the front passenger side light up and only the left arrow on the dash light up. If I flip the signal arm to go right with the hazards on, all four lights are on as well as the both arrows on the dash.

Repairs thus far:
Changed out the fuse. Replaced the front passenger turn bulb. Blasted hazard switch with WD40 (read that somewhere on here). I still have no turn signals. With that being illegal, I sure could use some help on what to do now. I have removed the bottom dash panel to look under the steering wheel but can't see a damn thing but a bunch of wires hidden by a piece of metal.

Vehicle:
2001 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4WD

Please help!
Thanks!

Have you checked the flashers? On your year they should be behind the glove box. But with smoke coming out of the steering wheel area I wonder if a wire hasn't burned or shorted.

Found the flasher (thank you for giving me the locale on that) and it turns out it's not that. More than likely you are correct on the burned out wire. The guy at Autozone showed me the part I need (the entire hazard switch unit at a whooping $120) and I'll need to find a mechanic to remove the whole steering wheel. *sigh* How do I get so lucky?!

It probably isn't a burned out wire, but a burnt out multifunction switch. Common occurrence. Some people can get away with just replacing the hazard switch itself, but if you saw smoke, you might have messed up the rest of the multifunction switch as well.
