Default No start and sudden dying

So my truck all of a sudden now doesn't want to start. I've verified it's not a fuel problem with a fuel pressure gauge and also with starter fluid. It hasnt started in a week. Last night I did get it to start up, which it did seem to start like normal again, drove to the gas station? Filled up, started up again ok, then when getting on on-ramp the engine simply died, as if I had turned the key to off. What could cause such a strange problem.

So i removed the coil and coil wire, reattached them and now it runs and starts fine, is it possible the coil wire came loose causing it to just shut down? Also I've noticed noise coming from the distributor cap, which quited when I put my hand on it and lightly pushed on it. Could it also be a bad cap and rotor causing it?

It is definitely possible that a loose coil wire is to blame here. I have seen plug wires work their way off of the cap terminals and even off spark plugs due to trapped air in the boot. This is especially true if you are using dielectric grease to seal up the boot. I have a few home-made tools (a piece of copper wire bent into a hook on the end) that I use when connecting wires that allow the air to escape when the boot is slid onto the terminal/plug.
