Non starting 1999 RHD 4.3
After running out of fuel and subsequently replacing the fuel pump (see other threads) the vehicle still will NOT start. I need to start from scratch to locate the problem.
The vehicle has not faultered in the 8 years (105,000 miles) I have had it, so I have no in depth experience of working on it, except for the usual maintenance.
I have am going to buy a suitable scanner to try an source the fault but any advice and tips would be appreciated from the forum. Also which workshop manual is the best - Haynes or Chilton?
Living in deepest Normandy means that there are no local workshops with suitable experience of Chevys.
Many thanks

Have you tested the fuel pressure?
On the manual front, neither is acceptable in my opinion. See if you can find yourself a factory service manual on eBay. Here is one: 1999 CHEVROLET S10 TRUCK BLAZER SHOP SERVICE MANUAL

Have you tried cycling the key on and off a few times to prime the fuel system?
Haynes and Chiltons manuals are both a joke and should only be used for the most basic of suggestions. As Kyle said... locate a factory service manual.

Awaiting delivery of manuals, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Have now rechecked fuel flow, have fuel pressure, also have spark at plugs. Still not firing even pouring fuel fown intake.
Have noted that engine fault light stays on. Will a scanner indicate what fault I have or what is the next stage.
Fed up banging my head against the wall - hence the request for, what might seem simple, help.
Cheers

Finally after having to leave the vehicle for a month now have the Blazer back on the road. Replaced the fuel pump and even though it appeared that the ignition was OK replaced the distributer cap and rotor. Engine running very sweetly
Just proves that going back to basics works.
Thanks to all for help & suggestions.
