Default Black box under rear drivers side of '04 4dr Blazer...wtf is it?

There's a black box of sorts under the rear drivers side of my '04 4dr (4wd, if it matters) Blazer. What's it for and can I rip the bastard out and stomp on it? (It got in the way of the bolts on my new shackles.) It looks like it's got at least one fluid type line and maybe an electrical harness attached to the back of it. Kinda flimsy, too.

Charcoal canister for fuel tank vapors. Be nice to it or you'll be bathed in the glow of a check engine light.

I misunderstood you.... inside drivers side rear quarter panel is charcoal canister, but it is outside of the truck. By shackles I assumed you meant "spring shackles" underneath the truck.

Yup. Outside the truck body, under the drivers side rear by the rear bumper. About 2 freakin' inches from the drivers side leaf spring shackle. Thanks for the replies, guys. I guess I'll leave it alone. I was hoping to remove it and try out my new shotgun on it.

Don't want to damage the truck itself.
