Default O2 sensor help!!!

Alright, well i got my O2 sensor and I go to replace them with torch in hand and... there are two lines running RIGHT beside the sensor. They literally touch it. Can these lines bare any heat. I have no idea where they go and I have my truck apart and can't really do anything right now.

Might try turning the truck on and letting it run for a couple of minutes, shutting it off, and then just use your socket wrench unless I missed a previous post on why you are jumping straight to using a torch. Sometimes the heat from running your vehicle will be enough to expand the metal to aide in O2 sensor removal. I just replaced mine and used a conservative amount of PB Blaster and a socket wrench with slotted O2 sensor socket. Didn't even have to warm mine up.

Well after 3 hours of "removeall" and trying with a wrench I went and ate dinner. Then called up a buddy and got him over asap. He took a look and said that he'd do it and that they are just oil cooler lines. Well its 12:30 here and I just outta the shower right after we were done. So basically 3-6 - Nothing. 7-11 - Nothing. 11-12 go it out, wired and new one in and completed.

He even said that it was the hardest o2 sensor he has ever come across.

Pictures prove it all, so here ya go.

Tools to use if you come across a hard one:
  1. ballpean hammer
  2. small vise-grips
  3. any kind of "liquid wrench" type stuff
  4. FULL torch
  5. 1 large channel lock
  6. 1 medium channel locks

Both sets of channel lock were used multiple times to close the vise grips. THATS how tight we had to get it. Figures too as we were joking around he says "Got it?" (as a question) I asked "got what?" He said "I got it out". sure enough its out with absolutely no damage to the "bung" lol

WOW!!! I feel REAL fortunate now that mine wasn't that bad. Did you use some anti-seize on the new one??

Haha, We used both sets of channel locks just to get the vise grips closed on it.
