Default o2 sensor problem?

I have a 96 s10 blazer V6 4.3L. I recently took off my catalytic converter and busted/removed the honeycombs due to particles getting stuck in the O.E.M. muffler which caused the engine to drastically loose power. While pushing the engine pass 50mph on the freeway the engine light would turn on and sounded like it was missing. Since then, i added Flow master and kept the same hollowed out converter to save $$. The engine light still comes on once i get up to 50 or am going up a hill and it gives off a rich gas smell. The engine makesa bogging noise and I have to floor it to get through it but once through the bogging the engine runs ok untill rmps go down. A friend told me to look into a performance chip and to take off the intake filter to fix the problem but I'm not sure this is the way to go. After scanning the engine, it read that there was a miss-fire in fuel injector 6 so we changed the new old injector with a new one. After a few days the same bogging sound came back. The engine doesn't run as smoothly as it did before i took out the honey combs. Does anyone know or can help me with this problem so? thank you
