OBD 1.5 :( How do I obtain codes?

Same issue
Hey guys, I tried searching and get conflicting reports. I verified it myself with the OBD1 sticker in the engine bay but I have a 16 pin port under the dash. My engine light is on and MPG is horrible. I want to get code but do not know how to. I have OBD2 scanners and they obv cannot help. Autozone says they cant do it either
help!

Did you find any solution? I have the same problem, I changed the distributor because the engine was knocking awfully, the cap was broken and the gear was worn out, after i did it, the check engine light pops up in the cluster and i don't know why. Tried to scan but the scanner doesn't work either... The truck works just fine, but it's still knocking at 60km/h about 3000rpm, although its less than before changing the distributor. Tomorrow i'm going to check the camshaft sensor of the new distributor and the knock sensor to see if its working.
