Default OBDII ECM vs ABS

Is it true that data about my 1999 GM ABS is on GM-UART and that is on pins 6-14?

Is it true that my China OBDii Bluetooth adapter can't support GM UART, but some expensive one can?

The serial bus pin in the DLC is #2. The UART pin is #9.

Slow down a little Swartlkk;

1) all data available from the OBD port is "Serial Data"

2) Pin 2 is the J1850 (Bus+) pin and pin 10 is the J1850 (Bus-) pin

3) Pins 1-3-8-9-11-12-13 are listed in the standard as "Manufactures Discretion" Are you saying the GM UART serial data is on two of these? Do you have more information on which pins those are and which protocols they use?

Slow down... What seems to be your difficulty?

Pins 1, 3, 6-8, 10-12, and 14-15 are not used on the GM DLC found in the 98-02 S-series SUVs according to my references. Pin 2 is stated as the 'Serial Data Signal - Class 2 - 10400 Baud - Diagnostic to ALDL'. Pins 4 & 5 are both grounds. Pin 9 is stated as the 'Serial Data Signal - UART - 8192 Baud - Primary'. Pin 13 is the diagnostic signal wire for the NP1 transfer case (if equiped) and pin 16 is +12V fused battery power.

Do you know what is on Pin 13? Is it serial data from the Transfer Case Computer? Does ScanXL or Enginuity make use of this line?

Pin 13 is the link to the diagnostic port on the TCCM. On NP1 equiped vehicles, the codes can be read by watching the 4wd switch lights after grounding pin 13 as described in the OBD2 NV233 Diagnostics thread. That thread also has the DLC pinout which is linked to from my photobucket account. I couldn't find it earlier or else I would have attached it.
