Occasional fresg gas smell
I have recently gotten a new spider, distributor, fuel pump/filter. When diagnosing the problem I drilled 4 holes in my cat to rule it b/c it was already messed up and I thought it may be clogged. I have not fixed my cat yet and have been riding on it for about three weeks(sounds like a weed eater) Just today while riding home from work I got fresh gas smells in the cab. They occur when I stop and then accelerate. After accelerating then the smell hits. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Sounds like your cat is venting exhaust fumes beneath the cab, which are making their way up into the cab. There's a reason why the exhaust doesn't come out before the rear bumper..
I have to ask...why drill holes in your cat though...I feel like there's quite a few other ways to test the cat...
