Exclamation On & Off Electrical power 98 s10 blazer

I drove truck 15 yards this morning. Dash lights all lit up and faded in and out for just a moment and the truck died in gear. I turned the ignition over and there was no electrical working, in other words no bells and whistles with my key in the ignition. I placed a charger on the battery and my truck started fine. I tried to continue the drive to work. I made it another 30 yards with dash lights fading in and out, then the truck died again. This time I turned over the ignition and she started again without using the charger. I managed to back my truck back up in my parking space. Any ideas, what I should start checking first?

Thanks
EP

Have you checked your alternator?

If the alternator is good and the wires are clean and tight my vote is for the legendary ignition switch.

Yeah, my next guess was also the ignition switch.

Does anyone know an easy way to replace ignition switch in a 1996 S-Blazer?
