I fixed my problem. it was the transmission oil cooling line that goes in to the radiator. the eclip wasnt doing its job so i was loosing transmission oil from there. i replace the e-clip and now it has been a week no leak. just check those connections and see if they need to be replace or the line that goes in to the radiator.

yeah that was what the problem was except we noticed that someone had installed an aftermarket radiator and did not even tighten the cooler line fittings. they werent even finger tight. i didnt think the leak was very bad when i first noticed the oily mess because i kept checking my trans fluid and i always got a good reading, but like a typical transmission novice i was checking the fluid when the truck was cold lol. so of course my trans pan has fluid in it durka durka. anyways once i learned how to check it i realized i was extremely low. which turned out to be causing my RPM fluctuations on the freeway, loss of reverse gear until up to running speed, major transmission slippage etc etc. i took it to a gm dealership and they diagnosed it as a bad valve body because of the engine code and diagnostic computer showing torque converter was working but trans was slipping etc. glad i never paid for that repair, all i did was buy 4 qts of trans fluid which i had to use all of them to get the dipstick to where it should be. i was driving around with 1qt of fluid!!! wow made me feel so dumb
