One more o-ring question

Default One more o-ring question
I purchased the correct fuel line o-rings for my 1996 blazer per captain hook's information.

I have heard that these o-rings should be lubricated with gas before inserting and tightening. Is this true? If so are there better alternatives?

Or clean motor oil, not gasoline.
