Open with key and alarm goes off
Ok guys and gals if you read the post just made in the DIY section i just finally got the stock keyless entry installed in. Everything is working great and im really really happy. But i noticed something, when iunlock the door with my key and then open it the alarm goes off until i put my key in the igntion or hit the unlock button on my fob. It dosen't go off if i open it with the fob just if i unlock the doors with my key and not the fob. Thanks for any help
My 1991 does it too. It's just the way the alarm is hooked up. Most, if not all, alarms are set up this way. I have the GM Goodwrench VSS-3200 in mine because I like having all the factory parts over aftermarket.
Thats how my aftermarket system is. Thats to prevent someone picking the lock or forcing the door. I didnt think factory systems worked that way though.
The factory keyless systems on my dad's explorer, my mom's oldsmobile will disarm the factory alarm with the key in the door.

ooo so maybe its the new software they had to upload in bcm, this calibration software that makes it go off. I mean ill get use to it eventually right now im so use to putting the key in the door so ive had it go off a few times but its cool i guess
well for instance like my spare key i didnt buy a fob for yet i onyl have 1 fob right now though im not used to sing the fob im so used to going to the door putting the key in it to unlock it so thats the only reason why
