overhead console

Default overhead console

is there any way to reset the overhead console on a 97 the avg speed and gallons used do not reset.

Default RE: overhead console

Do you have two buttons? One for mode and one for US/Metric? Try switching to the gallons used mode and holding down both buttons.

This is merely from hearsay, my overhead console only has temp and compass.

EDIT: This link (CLICK) is from the Related Threads below. Not sure if it would be the same for a '97 but I can't see why not.

I have a 1998 Blazer LT 4x4 with the overhead trip computer also. In my vehicle's manual on page 2-52 it states:

"To reset the trip computer, press MODE and US/MET buttons simultaneously for at least two seconds. All functions will be displayed for half a second once the system is reset. Reset can only be performed in the AVG ECON, FUEL USED and AVG SPEED modes. All three modes are reset simultaneously."

Hope that helps you out.
