Hi,

I recently changed the plugs and leads, I didn't notice at first, but the control to change the direction of the fan/heater wasnt working.

After a day of driving the SES light came on and gave the 0171 code.
I found I had knocked off the vacuum hose which attaches to the hose going through the firewall into the cab.
I thought that would have fixed it as it the control appeared to work again (when the engine is cold). So I cleared the code. (The code was thrown again after driving another day)

After the engine has warmed up, the control doesn't work properly. I can move it onto the demister if I turn the blower off, change the direction and turn it back on, otherwise whatever setting it is on blows out of the face vents.

When the engine is cold and I change the direction, I can hear the vacuum hissing (the normal noise I have always heard) and changing. When it has warmed up, moving from the feet to the demister, there isn't a hiss but just a click.

I'm assuming that the code is to do with vacuum leak somewhere as opposed to the MAF sensor?

Im guessing I must have knocked another vacuum line somewhere.
The code suggests a leak downstream of the MAF sensor? Where is the MAF sensor so I can try and chase it out?

I definitely have a performance loss, there is a noise from the right hand side of the engine when accelerating hardish and fuel economy has gone down the drain.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Adam
