P0341 No camshaft position sensor?
I have a 2001 gmc jimmy sle 4.3L 2WD named Jimdoggg, that I had never taken to get read and while being a new owner ran into some issues
Jimdog ran pretty fine, til recent, before was only used on very short commutes. Recently has:
-stuttered on the road especially at idling speeds
-loss power completely (scary)
-starting issues
-smells horribly of gas
Going to check it out I got an diagnostic reading and it said I possibly needed a replacement camshaft position sensor. Got the part for replacing, went to check under the distributor cap, the sensor wasn’t wired to anything.
Any help/guiding to solution? Have been doing my best compiling info and research while doing what I can. Right now I’m trying to figure out installing the camshaft position sensor on my own.
Any know if a camshaft position sensor would not be installed? Other issues I might run into from it not being there, whether it can survive without it?

The rest of the wiring harness is probably hanging down there somewhere. I would buy a new connector with a wiring pigtail, splice it on to the damaged wiring, and plug it in.
It will run without that sensor, but not properly.

Thanks for the info, had the pigtail enroute as you let me know. Then did some wiring research. Hope to get it done between the next evenings/mornins.
Might get the fuel filter off while there’s no power to it and hopefully not create another problem.
Funny mines hanging on by luck on the line with no bracket, going to finesse one out of something around

Any got or know where to find a wiring harness diagram for that 4.3L Vortec, 2001??
Been googling like crazy swear it isn't as easy to search as it used to be, having hard time figuring out the wiring.

Service manuals, TSBs, DTC diagnostic info, all kinds of cool stuff. Honestly, I mostly use it for the wiring diagrams.
