P0440 EVAP Malfuntion Code?????

Default P0440 EVAP Malfuntion Code?????
My Service Engine Soon light is on and i looked it up and it could be the purge solenoid or canister. Should i be worried about this and how would i go about finding out specifically what the problem is? Thanks
