Parking Brake Light
I have read almost every thread on here in regards to this without finding a solution so hopefully someone out there can help.
I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer LT with a V-6 and my Parking Brake light is on. I have Pushed the parking brake down and released it all the way. <By the way did that in traffic before realizing the cable wasn't attached. I had some VERY mad people per I thought it was a cable OH NO it is a lever.> Fun! Fun!
Anyhow I got home took off the cover under the dash and there are 1800 wires it seem and the box that the manual states is the brake switch doesn't look anything like what the guy at advance auto had up on his screen. What else can I look at and for? Pictures are great per the one I have in the book is black and white.
Please remeber I am a TOTAL girl and need specific instructions, per this is my first vehicle I am trying to work on the minor things with.
Thanks in advance for all the help an patience [sm=hail.gif]BTW.. see newbie post for pictures of the Blazer.

The brake warning lamp in the instrument cluster warns the driver of the following conditions:
[*]A loss of hydraulic fluid pressure[*]Parking brake operation[*]A possible malfunction in the antilock brake system [/ul]
Have you checked the brake fluid level ordoes the park brake cable have a lot of slack in it? Does the park brake lever return to the top of it's travel? It could be a cable out of adjustment from a stretched cable or worn park brake shoes.
