passenger door...

RE: passenger door...
I recommend only using GM parts for this job!! I have used the other brands and they just don't last (not that the GM ones last all that long anyway but they are better). Also ALWAYS replace the pin also. And LUBE, LUBE, LUBE!!!! Korey.

RE: passenger door...
When I replaced my pins and bushings, I did it myself, I used a chair that was just the right height to hold the door while the pins were out. I got the parts from the dealer.
Yes LUBE is important, however, I lubed mine frequently and they still wore out.

Yes they will always wear out. Just a bad design I guess. But using the GM parts seem to make the replacement intervals longer. Korey

RE: passenger door...
A question, what type of lube would you reccomend to pack the hinge with when replacing the bushings? And what type to keep applying to keep them for as long as possible? I just bought a 99 with this problem on the drivers door, I thought I was going to need all new hinges but I guess not in this case. Thanks for any help.

RE: passenger door...
I use assembly lube for the bushings (but then I have loads of it for redoing engines).
Just some simply KY, Vasoline orsimular will work for the bushings.
For the hing pins, just a light coat of 10w-30 works good.
