Passenger seat won't stay locked in
#11
Well, everything SEEMS to be working properly with the seat out of the truck. I do, however, see that it appears the curved clip type thing looks to have been replaced at some point as it's silver instead of copper. Could that be causing some issues?
The silver side: This is towards the middle of the car (left side as someone is in the seat)
The copper side: Towards the outside of the car (right shoulder as you're in the seat)
The teeth that I could see. They all seem like they're in good shape.
And of course... the busted seatback adjuster lever. I think I'll try and sand this flush and use one of those spiffy handles everyone always posts about to "fix" this issue.

They both should be spring steel it just looks like one is coated differently from the other which could have mean they were slightly different in shape and were coated differently to better identify them during assembly. You could try removing the clip and opening it up some more, putting more tension on the latch.

OK, I'll do that and see if it helps any in a little bit.

Swartllk you magnificent man! (lol) That's all it was. That clip nearly fell out when I touched it, so I bent it outwards a bit, put the seat back in and went for a ride with my roomy sitting there.
I even drove like a ricer, racing off of stoplights and whatnot with no issue at all. Thank you very much for the help!

Glad to have helped! It may do it again if the material has lost it's temper (memory).

Now that I know how easy it is to fix, it won't be such a bit hassle to figure it out. I assume I can order a new clip for a few bucks somewhere too if needed. For now, just glad I don't have to listen to my roomy complain whenever someone is in the back!
