Default Passenger Window

Hi All,

So yesterday my passenger window stopped working.. I heard a loud popping sound which sounds like something skipped..

What happens now is I hear the motor moving up and down but the window doesn't move.. Seems like its off the track..

Anyone have any explanations on how power windows work and what could have went wrong?

Brian

If the window is down, I would try looking down in with a flashlight. After that the next step would be to pull off the inside door panel. Be sure to pull the screws under the pull handle. If all this scares you, take it to a shop.

Bet the gears in the motor stripped or the plastic roller crapped out.

Had to replace the roller in my blazer a few years back cause it would hang up and pop the window out of track. Doorman part in the help section and under $10 if I remember right.

So it ended up being the metal bracket which is attached to the bottom of the glass had fallen off..

This metal bracket (track) is factor crimped and was impossible to put back on thus in the end I had to hit the scrapper and get a new window all together..

In the end everything is all good again and my window is working better then ever...
