I have a used steering column with key. If I have a new lock cylinder coded to my original ignition key put in the used column and install the used column in truck can I run a 30 minute passlock relearn or will it fail to start.

If I cannot do above, can I switch passlock sensor from original column to replacement column with the new lock cylinder coded to my original key or will it fail to start.

Do I need a gm computer to reprogram.

Just do the relearn. Start with the short relearn. If you cannot get it to go with the short or long DIY relearn, then you may have to go to the dealer.

PASSLOCK - Reprogramming Auto Learn

You should be able to start it after leaving the key in the RUN position for 5 minutes though.
