I honestly don't have any idea where to post this so I am just posting it here. I have a huge confession to make though. I hate my Blazer. I have hated it since the second I got it, and now it is trying to murder me. That's right. It has been doing this thing where it will randomly pull super sharp to the right. That isn't what is scaring me though. I just got home from getting gas, and it started accelerating by itself... fast. My brakes were barely doing anything to stop it and I ran through 2 red lights going 70 in a 35. My parents won't let me get rid of it or sell it or anything and I have absolutely no idea why, but I am not going to put up with this anymore. I am not going to drive it until I know that this isn't going to happen any more. I don't even care if I have to walk to school. Every frickin day it is a new problem with this thing and now that it is trying to kill me, I am not going to put up with it. Any help on how to fix this acceleration problem would be great.

Do you have any service lights on? Have you had a repairman go over it? Sometimes the floor mat can make the car speed up. Where are you located?

No I don't. And no I haven't. And how does a floor mat make it speed up? And in Michigan.

If the floor mat is pushed forward it can put pressure in the gas pedal. That does happen a lot which is why newer cars come with the tab that keeps them in place.

Sounds like it needs some TLC... There is nothing all that complex about these trucks and they can be very reliable. Just like any other vehicle, they require maintenance.

These trucks do not suffer from spontaneous acceleration like a few Toyota vehicles were suspected of. That problem should be fairly simple to solve by inspecting the pedal assembly, throttle cable, and throttle body. You are looking for anything that would cause the throttle to hang open. Carbon build up in the throttle body can cause it to hang open. Removing the throttle body and giving it a good cleaning should remove that as a possibility. It wouldn't hurt to lube the throttle cable at this time as well.

As far as pulling hard to one side or the other, I would start by inspecting the brakes. A sticking caliper can cause a hard pull. If all of that checks out, then the next thing I would inspect would be the steering components.

Again, lack of maintenance can be a pain, but you are driving a ~15 year old vehicle. Couple that with the use of sub-par replacement parts over the years and it isn't a stretch to see how you can come to the opinion that you have.

You came to an enthusiast site asking for help. Your feelings toward your vehicle, however strong they are, do not help get to where you need to be. Best to leave those feelings out of the discussion as they can deter people from responding.

Yeah. Sorry about that. This thing is falling apart and every week something else goes wrong with it. I am going to get it maintenanced in the spring though. I think there is a transmission problem too. I just got the brakes done recently, but it could be a possibility. I feel like it is the steering though because it is always trying to pull to the right, but sometimes it will randomly try to sharply turn right. I think that the crater sized potholes might have some effect on it though. The alignment is horrible and my shocks are dead. I don't have the money to get it serviced right now, but when I get the money that is the first thing I am doing.

I am in Grand Rapids. The front tires are perfectly fine. I know for a fact that it needs lots of TLC. It has always pulled to the right though. Not sharply like it has been recently though. It might be the floor mats. When I get home I am going to take them out and see if it makes any difference.
