PO740 TCC help

PO740 TCC help
i threw the torque converter clutch code but dont have any problems shifting it just holds the gear for a little and shifts fine and smooth. truck feels like it miss fires at idle and at 50-60mph but thats the only code i have. would this cause a miss fire like state? i have read the sticky on this but want some opinions on what to check out first? or any help thats useful?

I am not sure what you have been doing since your initial post, but the link above would be the first place to start. The next thing for me to ask is how comfortable you are working with a modern electronically controlled automatic transmission?

i have already read that thanks though. and as far as working on it im comfortable with it. only prob is its my daily driver so i cant be taken it apart to check stuff out

Ok, magic bullet... Check.
"the sticky" does not really give much detail to any one thing that you have actually read. And no mention of anything tried...
Now, as detailed in the actual diagnostic (as linked to above), you actually have to do work to check things. Did you actually step through the diagnostic chart? If so, how far did you get and what was the outcome of those steps you performed? Without your explanations of your experiences with those steps, there really is very little that we can do. The diagnostic procedure is what any dealership and/or transmission center is going to start with. These charts and recommended steps really do lead to the cause. If you have questions on how to do something detailed in the chart, just ask. To read and dismiss, for some reason unknown to anyone but yourself, leaves those of us willing to help in the dark.
