poping noise when getting in truck

Default RE: poping noise when getting in truck

After I installed new shocks, I had a similar problem. It ended up being the shock mounting bolts. The steel liner to the bushings on the shocks were not as wide as the original shocks. So the bolts needed to be tightened much tighter to pull the mounting tabs in against the sleeve in the new shocks. Drove me nuts.

ill try that but how long after you put the new shocks in did it make the noise? like i said it had new shocks on the truck when i bought it right about a year ago.

Made the noise right after I put on the shocks. I had a noise prior to the new shocks though. It just got a bit worse when I put the shocks on. Proceeded through the ball joints which needed to be changed. Then to the hood pin washers (TSB). And finally back to the front shocks.

ive never had to change cv shafts. the only ones i come across online is cardone/A1 i assume theres not a lot of diffrence between cv shafts so these should be good enough ?
