Default Possible Trans. Issue

Hey guys,
For the past few week my Jimmy has been acting a little strange. Under acceleration (not even heavy) every so often it wont want to shift up to second gear until around 4,500rpm. Then, when driving at highway speeds, anywhere between 55-75mph, it seems as though it struggles to stay a constant speed. The trans shifts up a down trying to compensate. While going uphill on the highway, it also tends to slow way down before down shifting to get up the hill. It all just seems like very erratic shifting like the trans may be going bad but it doesn't feel like it's slipping or anything. I checked the fluid today after driving around with the engine running and it read full.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
-Andrew

What year is your Blazer?

What motor does it have?

Do you get a "check engine" light?

Have you checked for trouble codes?

It's a 1996, it hasn't thrown any codes and there are none stored in the system. It has the 4.3 Vortec "w" code.

Check this out, I've started a list that I go to when I'm having troubles or any information I think may be useful. It's by no means complete, but could give an idea of what can affect shifting and things to check before jumping to conclusions about replacing a transmission.

Wow, that's an extremely helpful list, looks like I'll check the TPS and go on from there. Thanks!
