my 98 blazer lt 4x4 is leaking antifreeze from the front. but whats weird it only leaking it when i park my truck at my house not at work or parking lots weird. and it only leaks it when the truck is shut off i look under my truck and its coming from the front of the block under my bottom pulley. so i look at the water pump and fluid is leaking from the bottom of my pump it looks like and runs down my block and to the bottom. can it be the pupm seal went bad what to do replace the whole pump and also is my truck an interance motor and is it a timing chain or belt i think chain cause the 4.3l is based from the small block v8 by chevy.

Hey! While I could not quite get your message due to spelling issues in your text,I feel confident that indeed your pump has failed. However at the same time a complete cooling system inspection is in order! All hoses should be replaced and the system completely flushed, however you may want to do a pressure test first to assure its not your radiator or the intake manifold gaskets that are at fault!-Both are common with these motors&vehicles! -And no the 4.3 is not a timing interferance engine unless a timing chain failure occurred at high RPM! Do some research-youll find your problem!

Step66 was right pressure test it and look with pressure at 16 psi and look for leaks.
I did that and found the mounting bolt on water pump was missing

I would pressure test before I just started throughing parts at it. Too expensive.
I am confused by the remark from step66: if the timing chain or belt breaks and the valves hit the piston then it is a interference motor. If they dont then it is not an interference motor.
He conterdicted himself so get some clarification before you decide whether it is or not. I am not 100% so i will not say one way or the other. But i believe it is.
