I have a 1996 Blazer 4wd 4dr with the 4.3L. I replaced the PS pump and air conditioner compressor 6 years ago. At the time, I pulled the AC compressor bracket and everything was reasonably easy to work with. Currently, I need to replace the PS pump and have taken off the pulley, 3 front bolts, 1 nut on block stud post (bottom) and a nut from a bracket on the rear of the pump. The pump is still secured.
It looks like there is one more bolt on the lower backside, but I wanted to verify that the bolt is there and also, check with anyone out there: Should I unbolt the AC compressor (leave hoses connected) and move it to the side to unbolt the bracket? It seems that removing the compressor and bracket would again make this much simpler; I can't remember having any trouble last time. My Chilton's says the bracket may have to be removed.

Hey, I have access to Alldata Online and here is what it says to do.
- Disconnect pressure and return hoses from power steering pump or steering gear housing, then secure ends in raised position to prevent oil drainage. Cap all open lines and fittings.
- Remove power steering pump belt, then power steering pump attaching bolts.
- Remove power steering pump assembly.
- Reverse procedure to install.
Hope this helps!!!
Here's a pic of the diagram as well.
