Default Problem with driver's side window control buttons

1996 Blazer, 4WD, 4-door.

The control panel in the driver's side arm rest that runs all the windows has come loose from whatever secured it. The whole unit is pushed down into the armrest. I can run the windows, but it's a bit of a pain to have to move the control unit back a little or to the side so the keys don't get stuck.

I can get the unit back up, but how do I secure it so it doesn't slip back down under the holes in the armrest?

Do i need to take the door panel off to address this issue or can I do it less invasively?

Thanks,
Greg

The bezel/trim that goes around the window switch could be removed with out removing the door panel. It should clip in one end and hook into the other end. a trim stick tool or a screw driver should remove this trim with out any problems. The tabs that hold the switch to this trim might be broken. but you should see that when you remove this trim.

Unfortunately, there is no bezel around the switches. The armrest is one piece, including the cutouts in the armrest for the window buttons.

It shouldn't be, on my '95, the armrest is 2 peices, one is the actual armrest, the other is the switches, the '97's are that way aswell. Unless you have a rare, "gotta pop the entire door panel off" it should be standard
