problem with my cruse controll

Default problem with my cruse controll

ok i when to work yesterday and the cruse control stuck on full rev on in my 2000 blazer and it didn't shut off after i stepped on my break can any buddy tell my why or a good place to test thanks

I would suspect a problem with either the main throttle cable or the cruise cable. You can test their return springs by opening the throttle wide open and slowly closing it while seeing if one of them gets slack in the cable. If there is slack, it isn't returning.

Were you running on "cruise" when you pressed the brake and the engine rev'd?

thanks a lot i will test it today

yes i was going about 55 and then i tried to push the break and it didn't shut off the cruse so when i pushed in on my break my truck was still in gear and it wasn't stopping i shut off the blazer and then when i got to work i put in park and thats when it revd so i floored the gas and thats when it stopped that was a freaky ride say the least

i would replace you break switch its what tells the cruse to shut off when you hit the brake it is attached to the side of the brake peddle with a clip and a plug
