Never any problems with no rain? Without the rain in the equation I'd say simple. Ignition switch. No codes just rain huh.

I had a vehicle that did this and it ended up being a cracked distributor. Only ran bad when it rained. Just throwing something out there to look at.

Good luck...

+1 on the distributor. Running badly in damp conditions is a classic sign of a bad dizzy.

I occasionally get a stumbling in damp wet weather , when first driving. Stumbles and reluctantly shifts from 1st to 2nd. Like it just doesn't want to shift into 2nd. After driving a few minutes it goes away. Only happens in the 1st to 2nd shift - never in 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th.

Mine used to surge in the rain. I replaced the cap, rotor and put dielectric grease on the all the plug boots off the cap. Problem gone. Unfortunatley the distributor sits right below the seam between the hood and the cowl so water drips on it. While you have the dielectric grease out do all the boots off the plugs too.
