Default push button by obd port....stock or car starter

I couldnt start my rig remotely anymore. Toggle switch by obd port was off. I didnt know they had switches. Interweb says its a valet thing. Works fine now but theres a push button switch right behind it. I cant figure out what its for. The button itself is like the size of the end of a bic pen (non writing end).

Is this stock or apart of the viper car starter/alarm system. Fyi my rig doesnt have an alarm. Just a car starter.

The older remote start system had a button like you described for programming. I believe it's used when programming the remote initially and when replacing batteries if needed. My jimmy had a very old remote start system with a button just like that. I called a trusted auto accessories shop and they told me what that button was for. I had them remove the entire remote start system because I was chasing electrical problems and was hoping that would solve it.

I tried hitting that push button while remote starting my rig, clicking valet switch on to kill it. Vice versa and everything in between. Never did nothing. I will play with it some more. I did hold down my lock button for doorlocks and the thing honked so I will do that, and press the button see if it kills it. Otherwise its probably a programming thing.

On a Viper (or any other DEI product) that push button will be for programming features and new remotes. You can find the owners manual and the install manuals online to see how to program the different features.
