Quick Brake Question
#31
Pedal feel will be your clue, no mush, no fade. As for the noise: there is a vacuum check valve in the vacuum line connector at the booster, that might be the cause.

Everything is finally done, I hope. I already had a new bleeder screw for the front caliper that I hadn't replaced, because when I did the pads it looked in pretty bad shape. After a half an hour of trying to get the thing loose, I gave up. It was so mangled that there wasn't any hex left, it was totally round. So I said the hell with it and went to Advance and bought a new caliper. I figured the other side went bad, so the passenger side would be next. So there are new rotors, pads, and calipers on all four corners. When I bought the driver's side caliper, it came already assembled to the bracket. This one had to be put together. Any other novices like myself that are reading this, the bushings are important. I had everything together before I realized what they were for. I couldn't figure out why the caliper was so loose in the bracket. So I had to take everything apart and get the bushings in the bracket and put everything back. Besides that screw up, all seems well now. I only went for a short test ride, but I did a lot of heavy braking, and didn't notice any weird pedal feeling. So hopefully I am done with brakes for a while. Thanks to Captain Hook for all the help. Hopefully someone else will learn something from this. Thanks Blazer Forum.
