Default rear vision mirror

My rear vision mirror fell off yesterday, the sticky pad it attaches to has lost its stick with old age. Any ideas on how to stick back on? Super glue?

Yup, but make sure both surfaces are very clean.

And follow the instructions. You only need one drop of glue. This is one case where more is NOT better.

I've stuck them back on with double sided 3M exterior trim tape before :P not a permanent solution by any means, but it would last you a good wile so long as you prep the surfaces good.

Something I have found to make it easy to get the mirror in the exact same spot on the windshield is - before cleaning the glass on the inside if there is still glue residue on the windshield go to the outside and draw with a marker around the edge of the residue. After mirror is reattached the marker washes off with window cleaner

I've never had any of the DIY glues to work worth a dang. The last time I had one fall off I brought it to a windshield replacement place and had them put it on. Cost less than buying the stuff from the auto parts store.

Thanks, guys, lots of good advice. I've found some rear vision glue at a parts store to use.
