Default rear wiper /tripmeter 98 jimmy

98 jimmy
rear wiper comes up about 3/4 way and stops till you move it a couple inches futher then it works slow.....

tripmeter wont reset...dont matter how many times you push it...or how long you hold it in

door seal leaks water on me

and 4x4 still dont work ...replaced motor and puter...now am crawling under it to shift it without motor on transfercase

this is not helping my lack of love for GM products

I just recently had my Instrument cluster out of my 98 Blazer working on a different problem but I noticed how cheap the button for the trip reset was, and if used alot I can see were that would cause problems and/or break easily.

#1 - Sounds like you have a bad rear wiper motor. Not very common for it to happen, but.

#2 - Sounds like the switch on the cluster is bad. If you can get to the switch, you may just have a broken solder joint which you may be able to re-flow and fix the issue. If not, then a new cluster will definitely correct the issue. Again, not a very common problem.

#3 - Are the door pins in good condition? If they are, sounds like the door is bent. Door pin wear is quite common and they aren't too bad to replace. Run a search.

#4 - Have you cleaned the electrical connections at all of the pieces? Is the switch in the dash doing what it is supposed to? Some have found that the switch is the culprit for quite a few of the 4wd issues. What does it do when everything is installed properly? If you do not have the Auto4wd option, you can run through the diagnostic procedure located in the DIY section to help narrow down the true source of the problem.

#5 - I would hardly base your experience with a 10 year old, used vehicle that a previous owner may or may not have neglected as a blight on the entire company. But I digress.

Problems one sounds just like a rear wiper motor needs replacing, I have done 2 on various blazers I have had, and those always acted that way.
