Removal of Rear Disc
Hey Guys, I'm currently replacing all the brakes on my 05 jimmy and I've gotten the front done no problems but the rear I can't for the life of me get the discs off. The pads, calipers, and all brackets are off and the discs still wont budge. They turn no problem and have a little slack. How can I release the ebrake or do they just slip off?
Thanks, Adam

The ebrakes make themself a groove on the inside of the rotor, you can sometimes pry the rotor off, but as some people have seen it will sometimes pull off the ebrake shoes. Maybe someone else will have a better method than prying them off.
Well I got them off and now I have 2 seized sliding pins on the caliper bracket, got the torches out and they didn't budge. This is getting to be a pain. Even though its a simple job. I put some anti seize on them but now I have to go to work for 14 hours so yep, the life of a trucker.
A new caliper bracket isn't that expensive. And will give much better pad life than one with rough slider holes. Use lots of high temp grease on the new slider pins too. And new boots.
The last caliper bracket that I bought from Napa had the new hardware with it.
