Ok..I have tried twice already and did not work. One of the steps above says after you turn the key off and on 3 times and release the unlock button the lock unlock cycles to indicate it goes into program mode. This does not happen i dont think it is going into program mode. I really suspect the new ignition cylinder.
Not sure what to do next. Going to try again soon. At least it was only 6.99 +shipping

Regards

I end up in the off position

Hold down unlock on door
Turn key on/off 3x ending in off position
Release unlock button on door
Hold down lock/Unlock buttons on fob simultaneously for 15seconds plus

Nothing happens

Do you let go after 15 sec? Or continue for a little longer?

Hi Don both times I have held both buttons down for a minute +. There is a little LED light on the FOB that is quickly flashing red like it is trying to communicate but so far nada. I have read I believe on this forum that "FOB's are like children and some learn faster than others. Will keep trying and see what happens

regars

Hmmm.... I got a 99 blazer, and my fobs dont have a little light. The wifes sonoma is an 02 and doesnt have a light either. Wonder when they had them, or if it was a location thing.

4 door blazer with hatch release. Same as 2 door blazer with hatch release.

Front of blazer fob

2 door sonoma without hatch release, same as s10

Front of sonoma

DonL

Mine(old and new) look the same as your 4 button FOB. The exception is that the button that is labeled "REAR2x" on yours is labeled "GM" on mine. I really have no idea how the old button on the argininal FOB was labeled it has faded off now The part numbers on the back are different too. The Part numbers and he FCC # match the original one I have that came with the blazer 20 some odd years ago.

Thanks for your help
